The Sega Master System
The SMS was my second system I had when I was a kid after my 2600. Loved Altered Beast. But the console failed in the US but I saw that it was big in Brazil.
So anyways I found this when I learned that they had ported games like Mortal Kombat 1-3 on the system. So out of pure morbid curiosity I got myself an emulator and a rom of MK3. Not worth the time at all. Completely unplayable. I mean I'm impressed they managed to get the game to even run on the SMS but cripes who'd want to?
Of course I also learned that the Game Gear was essentially a shrunk down SMS. So it seems both Nintendo and Sega were using years old tech for their handhelds. Which of course makes sense when you think about since every handheld currently is a ported down version of older consoles for the most part.
