My 2006 MLB Predictions
Note: This is poorly researched and based mostly off conjecture.
NL East
Braves
Mets
Phillies
Nationals
Marlins
Comment: The Mets loaded up, again, but until someone beats the Braves for the division title it is foolish to pick against them. It may be close between the Braves, Mets, and Phillies but the Marlins and Nats don't have a chance.
NL Central
Cardinals
Brewers
Astros
Cubs
Reds
Pirates
Comment: The Cards will probably go the World Series this year. They are just too good. The Brewers could make strides this year, the 'Stros have the pitching but I dunno about the offense, as do the Cubs (well maybe, if Woods and Prior can somehow stay healthy) the Reds and Pirates are pretty much sunk before the season begins as usual.
NL West
Dodgers
Giants
Diamondbacks
Padres
Rockies
Comment: If a team manages to win this division barely keeping it's head above water, the division as whole might as well call it quites. The Dodgers are the best all-around and the Giants have Barry Bonds back and whether or not he did steroids, until someone actually proves it he is still one of the most dangerous threats in baseball. He could get the Giants a division title. Either way aside from the Rockies the whole division will be close.
AL East
Yankees
Blue Jays
Red Sox
Orioles
Devil Rays
Comment: The Yank's have the offense and the best closer in the game. If their pitching comes around it could be a cake walk. Though the Jays and Red Sox will be up there. The O's and Rays are going to be fighting for the cellar.
AL Central
White Sox
Indians
Twins
Tigers
Royals
Comments: White Sox to the World Series again. The Indians will probably be the Wild Card this year. Twins could be up there but I don't know if they have any offense of which to speak. The Tigers will probably be around with the Twins and the Royals, well, lets just say they have a nice stadium.
AL West
Angels
Athletics
Rangers
Mariners
Comments: Angels look to have a very good offense and will easily win the division. The A's pitching will keep them in it for awhile as will the Rangers offense. If they combined to form one team they'd win but that isn't happening. The Mariners are pretty much lost in space as it were.
Playoffs
Cards vs. Mets
Braves vs. Dodgers
Yanks vs. White Sox
Angels vs. Indians
Braves vs. Cards
Angels vs. White Sox
Cards vs. White Sox
World Series: White Sox (Cubs fans commit suicide)
Well that is my poorly researched, mostly based on conjecture predictions.
