Year In Review

January

Pretty much any normal month. Went back to school. Got a cell phone, bought Resident Evil and The Minish Cap. Just kind of bland. Vikings beat the Packers in a playoff game at Lambeau Field. Which was sweetness.

Febuary

Bought my PS2 and 6 games. MGS3, Katamari Damacy, ICO, Silent Hill 4, Ratchet & Clank, and Sonic Mega Collection +. Spent a lot of money.

March

Probably the worst month of my life. My childhood home burned down taking lots of things with it. Our dog, 2 cats, and a batch of kittens. Can't forget the memories though. Thankfully some stuff did survive, like pictures, 3 of our cats (they were outdoor/indoor cats who were outside at the time), and most importantly my mom got herself out. It happened just before Spring Break so I spent a lot of time helping my mom get over her trauma and spent most of it at a farmhouse that a nice family borrowed to us to gather ourselves. By the end of the break my parents had already gotten a house that it pretty much perfect for them. We would welcome a new litter of kittens into our house (Noodle and Cookie are part of that litter we gave away the other two) and my mom got herself another dog, Dirk. In the end I'm just happy my family was alright because it could have been so much worse. They've removed the remains of the house from the plot it was on and it still kills me that the place I called home for 22+ years was gone in just a few short hours. I really wish I could do something for the town to thank them for all the help they gave us in our time of need.

April

Thankfully an easier month. I didn't do anything of note aside from save up for Anime Central. Also baseball season started. Go Braves.

May

End of school. Went with members of my anime club to Anime Central in Rosemont, Illinois. Some of the best fun I've ever had even though it took me a little while to get used to it. I was really hopping to go this year but they rescheduled the week before finals so that may not be in the cards. Also I got to meet Cory from the IGN Boards (that1guy64). He's a pretty cool guy despite being from Iowa. Came home and got used to my families new house. Also I got sick (I mean really vomitting sick) for the first time in over 6 years.

June

Spent a good while without immediate computer access. But that changed this month which was nice. Got to watch our kittens grow and stuff. We adopted a stray kitten which we named Chico. Saw Batman Begins which remains my favorite movie for the year.

July

My brother spent most of this month moping after his girlfriend left to Texas for Air Force. Once again did little except go to Fargo on occasion.

August

Started with my mom going to the hospital with some sort of seizure which completely freaked me out. Otherwise just prepared to go back to school. At school it turned out I had some cool freshman suitemates who actually liked to play videogames. If only I could get them more into anime they'd be even better. Though don't get me wrong, they are geeks just not anime geeks. One plays Magic (which we all call Yu-Gi-Oh to piss him off) and the other is a big music/movie geek. Plus I swear they look just like the guys from Penny Arcade. Also before I went to school my mom adopted a rather scraggily looking kitten and named her Lucy. To think now she is a friendly healthy looking little girl. Also football started.

September

School, work, school, work, new glasses, We <3 Katamari. Brother got married.

October

Shadow of the Colossus came out and proved to be a great game. My brother and his wife moved to North Carolina on Halloween as she got stationed there. We were hoping that she could get stationed in Minot but no such luck. Baseball ended for me as the Braves were once again knocked out in the NLDS. The Vikings sucked.

November

My 23rd birthday. Aside from that nothing special. I did get second in my anime club's SSBM tourney. Lost to a very good Falco. The Vikings started their win streak that turned around the season. Also one of our older cats got in a fight with a racoon or something and now has a debilated left leg.

December

Let way too much stuff pile on me to end the year and halfassed very many things for school. Went back home for Christmas break (who are they kidding?). Got a DS and Mario Kart DS and Meteos. Vikings playoff push ended.

In the end the year was filled with some tragedy, fun, kickass games, and me just being happy I have my family.
