My Take on Next-Gen

Since MS kicked the next gen into gear early I figure I'll give my perspective on the next gen consoles.

XBox 360: To me the least impressive second console in history. Unlike the NES-SNES-N64-GCN transition(or even the PSX-PS2 transition) the 360 offers no major upgrades aside from hi-def graphics, better online play, and higher prices all around. Nothing of note. I may buy one some day if I have a large surplus of money laying around but to me the XBox is going to scream dull, yet pretty.

Playstation 3: I've got some interest (MGS4, RE5) but if this is as expensive as I've heard it'll be awhile. I'm not interested in media centers. Maybe if they release a gaming only version.

Nintendo Revolution: The one I really want. One because of the price, two because it is Nintendo, three because of that controller. I really think Nintendo is onto something with the Revolution controller. As much as I appreciate the old way of playing games a new way may prove to be really cool and a true next gen idea. I'm kinda miffed that it seems that the system will be rather underpowered which may cause problems but if Nintendo (and third parties) deliever I won't care. The price will be right and the system looks fantastic. Plus that downloadable game library just gets my old-school blood pumping.

There you have it, my unscientific take on the next gen. Revolution is the way to go for me and if I want more games I'll get a PS3 or 360.
