Finally Got Myself A DS
After months of wanting one and not getting it I finally got one. I got the Mario Kart pack. Whee.
Can't wait till I can get the WiFi connector.
But anyway I'm going to do a mini-review of the system and game.
Nintendo DS: First time with any major time spent holding one without it being connected to something. Actually pretty confortable for the most part. Though I think if they'd put the face buttons down a bit lower or had the shoulder buttons raised higher it would have been perfect.
Game Boy Advance games are better because of it. The back-lit screen and stereo sound really help some of those Game Boy games with pretty good music.
My list for upcoming games are as such: Animal Crossing, Viewiful Joe, and Kirby Canvas Curse.
Mario Kart DS: May very well be the best of the Mario Karts even without the analog controls that I do miss. Lots of variety in karts and tracks including 4 from each of the last four MKs. Being able to play bots in multiplayer is fun to though a bit mindless.
The classic tracks are cool and all but man there are ones from those games I would have been in favor of. But the new ones are really great, particurily Waluigi Pinball, Koopa's Airship, and Tick Tock Clock. The Rainbow Road was also cool. Speaking of which I wish they would have had a Rainbow cup though it would have meant racing the worst Rainbow Road ever, that boring no frills 64 one.
On controls I wish the B buttons was the gas. My thumb gets cramped up on the A button.
And as mentioned as soon as possible I'm getting the Wi-Fi so provide Friend Codes if you got them.
Update: Just ordered my WiFi hub thing from Nintendo. Can't wait to play.
