R.I.P Eddie Guerrero

I just learned that Eddie Guerrero, one of my favorites when I used to watch wrestling on a regular basis, was found dead in his room in Minneapolis. The guy had gone through a lot to wrestle at the level he did since '87 and was a joy to watch in the ring. He wasn't just some overmuscled guy who could barely move in the ring he could do stuff that would make your head spin. When he and Chris Benoit both were the holders of their "brand" title that was one of the coolest moments in wrestling for me.

Far too many people think of wrestling as 100% fake meaning fake storylines and fake physicality. Anyone who was a fan of Eddie and other wrestlers like him know that this isn't true and the toll wrestling has on their bodies is unbelieveable. The guy in his 18 years probably had more damage inflicted upon his body than whole football teams.

R.I.P Latino Heat. You will be missed.

Update: Great article on Eddie's great career at 411mania.com.

Update: Just watched a whole episode of Raw for the first time in 2 years. Some very touching stuff said with a very touching ending. Though I wish they would have cut the gimmicks for this episode.
