Pet Blogging

I haven't done this yet and I want to show my pets. I'm probably more eager to be home to see my cats and dog than family because family can be seen a lot easier.

Our oldest, Monkey. About 6 years old. May very well be completely insane. But she loves her people and seems to love just getting scratched. If you don't she'll sit on your chest and just stare until you do. Kinda creepy.

Dear Buttons (2 years). Though right now she is kinda debilatated because of a fight she got into with a racoon before Thanksgiving she is another sweetheart. She may be the prettiest cat we have especially with her winter coat in and very fluffy. Which makes her look much bigger than she is. In fact I do believe that aside from our youngest kitten she is the lightest of the bunch.

My little Scarlet (2 years). When I wake up I can almost be assured that she will nestled up against my legs. She is a real sweetie, at least to me. In fact she is sitting on my lap as type this. She is essentially Buttons' cousin and are more like sisters. She would have been a mother but lost her new born kittens when our house burned down and essentially played the role with the kittens.

You might not be able to tell but Noodle(8 months) here will be a gigantic cat when he is fully grown. He already outweighs Monkey. Yet another sweetheart love snuggling on people, other cats, our dog, pretty much anything that will stand him. He'll be a great mouser I bet. Buttons is his mother.

Cookie, or as I call her Cookiemonster(8 months). Sweet(there really isn't a standoffish cat in the family) and very friendly. Going to be a mother soon though way too soon. She is usually sleeping with one of the other kittens quite regularily. Buttons is her mother.

An orphan cat my brother, and his wife found outside the gas station this summer and was named Chico(7 months). Started out very friendly and just got friendlier. As opposed to the huge Noodle he is going to a sleek long cat when he is fully grown. Loves to lick people and to sleep with people.

Adopted by my mom when she found her scrounging in our garbage and was named Lucy (4 months). Started our very neurotic and unfriendly and since coming to the realization that my mom wants her (she ran away a few times early on and the last time was when it was raining and that was when she accepted the family after she was found). She now is a very friendly little sweetheart. I'm actually surprised she lived this long as when she was taken in she was skinny and kind of sickly but now she is well-fed and healthy.

This is our dog and my mom's little guy, Dirk (11 months). She was the dog my mom got after the fire and though she is a little mama's boy is very friendly to everyone in the family and loves people. Is also accepted by all of the cats but Monkey (though she probably accepts him just has made sure he keeps his distance) so we never have any major problems with interspecies fighting. The cats all think of him as another cat for the most part. I'll often have him sleeping with me depending on what my mom does to bring him in with her.

Well these are the family pets. You'd think having 7 cats would be a problem but aside from Lucy and Buttons (too young and injured respectively) they are pretty much able to come and go as they please and spend hefty chunks of time outside coming in to eat and sleep especially now that winter has finally taken hold. Dirk is more restricted but gets as good a deal as any dog. Plenty of friends, a mom who'll spoil him, and plenty of toys.

Our pets are all exceptionally well behaved. They've got their things but we never have to much grief. And a part of me gets real depressed when I'm at school and can't at least see them.
