Jack's Back

Jack Thompson, everyone's favorite videogame hating piece of human garbage is back to try to stick it to the industry again. This time making the most insane "offer in the name of charity" that I could ever imagine.

Somehow, I don’t think pundit and resident moron Jack Thompson is the type who appreciates satire. Yet, he’s offering up his own version of A Modest Proposal in the form of a ten grand bounty to a charity if a publisher who “creates, manufactures and sells a video game” based on his own premise. The premise: A father’s vengeance on the game industry after his son is killed by a gamer. Heady stuff. - Kotaku.com
If there is any doubt that Thompson is an insane, attention-grabbing whore I think this situation erases it.

Gabe at Penny Arcade had a run-in with Jack just now. Check out Penny Arcade for what happened. Jack isn't right in the head I believe.

Update 10/18: Penny Arcade vs. Jack Thompson continues with hilarious results.

The common logic is that if we ignore Jack he'll go away but I do not believe that'll work. The guy for all his illogical, assholeness has friends in Washington and the MSM is willing to let him get away with his bullshit views. What we need is for the people who do have enough of a voice is to counter his crap and bring to light the complete ridiculous nature of Thompson and his personal crusade.

Update: Further on in Penny Arcade's news updated today.

Jack was on CNN tonight to talk about Midway’s new football game. Like I said in my news post above , this is why Jack is scary. Because he has no fucking clue what he’s talking about yet they put him on CNN to talk as though he was an expert. This is a quote from him:

"The NFL wouldn't allow it's name to be used, so that tells you something."

He doesn’t understand that EA purchased the rights to NFL games and that Midway’s new game is a direct response to that. Like I said before the time for ignoring this coot is over. He can’t be allowed to pull this kind of shit anymore. - Gabe from Penny Arcade.

Like Gabe said, we can't just ignore they guy.
