More on Hot Coffee
Since this whole Hot Coffee thing has sprung up people from all sides have been blaming the other. Hillary, Jack Thompson, and parents have been blaming the ESRB and Rockstar, Rockstar has been blaming hackers, the ESRB has been blaming Rockstar, gamers have been blaming parents, Hillary, Jack Thompson, the ESRB, and Dick Cheney has blamed terrorists. Me, I don't know who is necessarily at fault but it's a combined effort if anything.
Rockstar - Its their fault for putting the code in the game and then deciding to not use it and just leaving it in there. I'm starting to have a hard time believing that they didn't think that the code would be found. Hackers are fairly talented people. If Rockstar thought their secret was safe then they are very stupid. Personally I think they are who we blame the most. They are responsible for potential greater government interference in the industry no other company.
ESRB - They are probably the group who deserves the least amount of blame. They can only rate by what they know and they didn't know about it because Rockstar didn't make it known to them.
Hillary and Jack - These two political leaches suck. The game has been out for 8 months and has sold 6 million plus. Way to freaking late folks. Hillary, you are using this as a campaign vehicle you bitch and Jack you are just a moron with no life trying to enforce your views of proper entertainment on all of us. Go to hell. But once again they'd be spinning their tires again if Rockstar had just deleted the damned mini-game.
Parents - The game was rated M for MATURE meaning 17+. There is an accurate description of it's readily available content on it for you to see this. If you are buying this for your 12 year old son despite that and are shocked by the content, you are a bad parent. You didn't have to buy the game for your kid but you did anyway. So any parents out there who are thinking that they can score quick money with this, you suck.
In the end a lot of the blame revolves around Rockstar and their confessed stupidity. Rockstar is going to bring on a few years of more intense government intervention and I hope they are happier for it.
