Killer 7

As a gamer I'm one of the kind who thinks games should be about gameplay. Yet with Killer 7 I find myself very conflicted. You see from what I understand this game is style first gameplay second. It looks like an amazing experience and as a cel-shading fan (Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker being my first real love in the style) I'm interested in what they can do for a serious and seriously trippy game.

I think the game is going to have plenty of gameplay that's not the problem, but I do feel they are going to be second to the style especially early on.

From that screen shot and many of the others you can tell that Killer 7 isn't going to be your average game. The gameplay especially is simple and linear. You press A to move and the stick to move in different directions when given the option. When you come across a bad guy (well your enemy anyway) you switch to a first-person mode and shoot the Heaven's Smile. That and various puzzles that seem on the RE line of thought make me think that it will be a deeper gameplay experience than thought but which will definitely take a side to story and style. I'm conflicted because I tend to downplay story, not they aren't important just that I think they get too much billing now-a-days (thanks to games like Final Fantasy and Metal Gear Solid though I like MGS). So being interested in the game makes me seem like a hypocrite. In truth I am just a Capcom fan and this game is so unique, seriously what games this generation look or will play like it? So I shouldn't feel to bad about it.

For a game that is unique and expands the thoughts of what cel-shading can do I am willing to put down 50 clams. Hopefully Capcom won't disappoint me like they rarely do.
